What's wrong with BI?

Business Intelligence (BI) was expected to provide timely strategic information to management. On the other side “timely” mostly remains a promise.

Managers still depend on developers that write queries and “dress” online reports with charts and gauges. That takes time and, once done, managers often realize they needed some extra information or variation, thus more time is needed.

BI tools provide too limited flexibility to give managers fast answers they need: pivot tables, parameters and drill buttons are not enough for most practical situations!

But things could be different:

• What if you could give, with little effort, information independence to management?
